Our philosophy

The rating guide published by Caniba.com is based on the idea of a simple point system that is meant to help guide the average wine drinker in judging which wines are excellent, which wines are ok and which wines should be avoided. With each wine tasted the overall rating also takes into consideration the value of the wine.

5 points - An absolute classic wine.

4.5 points - An excellent wine of superb quality.

4 points - A great wine, fine example of Spanish wine.

3.5 points - A great wine to drink on an average day.

3 points - A good wine.

2.5 points - A average wine with some flaw.

2 points - A poor wine.

1.5 points - A very poor wine.

1 point - Avoid at all costs.
